In the readings on Social Processes I learned a lot about what to do as a freshman in regards to decorating, making friends, and dealing with living situations. I agree with the information I found and how it's important to be open minded when going to college and be open to meeting new people and joining groups you wouldn't necessarily find yourself at in high school. College is all about growing as a person and dealing with changes brought to you. I think that many of the problems they listed that you could go through are very realistic and relatable. I know that in my own experiences, looking at these readings has helped give me better ways to deal with them and get through challenges. I think that they gave a very broad but specific view point for many things you might go through in school and helps you realize you aren't alone and everyone is going through the same things as you are. In the reading for Claiming an Education I see that most teachers are men in an all girls school. I think they should be more professional and didn't like the fact that they looked at their students sexually rather than based on their academics. From my own experience going to Catholic school, I know it's harder to find teachers for schools like these because they don't make as much money.
